My Approach
The healing process can only start when trust and safety are established, so our work together will always start there. My respect and positive regard for each and every one of my clients is unconditional and deeply rooted in our shared humanity. I see you as the expert on yourself and therefore as an equal participant in therapy. Your story matters and I will listen with curiosity and compassion. I prioritize your perspective and worldviews without imposing mine.
I bring my authenticity, passion, and awareness of my own lived experiences into each session. I take a biopsychosocial approach to therapy, meaning I view all clients in the context of their intersectional lives. Important aspects of your identity such as gender, sexuality, culture, religion, ethnicity, ability, community, and life experiences will always be included in and guide the therapeutic process.
You are unique - and so are your needs. Your treatment plan will be personalized so that it best supports your journey towards positive changes and breaking the cycles in your life.
About Paulina
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) licensed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and practicing under the clinical supervision of Marlise Meilan for vocational and credential furtherment.
I graduated with distinction from Yorkville University in 2024 with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP).
In 2016, I graduated with honours from Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University with a Bachelors degree in Social Work (BASW). From 2018-2020, I also attended Kelowna College of Professional Counselling and graduated with honours, earning a Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling - Specializating in the Practice of Psychotherapy (DAPC).

Before pursuing my career as a therapist, I worked at the York Region District School Board for 7 years as an Intervention Support Worker, where I created and implemented Individualized Education Plans (I.E.P.s) for students identifying with developmental, neurological, emotional, and physical challenges. While completing my Master's, I worked in a criminal defence firm as a law clerk. While in this position, I broadened my knowledge of the justice system and gained a deep understanding of how traumatic experiences during formative years often underscored the stories of those involved in the justice system.
